School Wynd Neighburs Play

Lived Experience Of Mental Health

Our play "Neighburs" was written and performed by the cast. The Play is based on three individuals living in a high rise flat, each with their own daily difficulties and the stigma and discrimination they experience in society.

This play was well attended, and local MSP George Adams praised the TNC’s hard work in highlighting the daily issues individuals with mental health face.

Shaun Moore said: "Writing and saying stuff brought something a wee bit different today. I was asked to draft and perform a monologue on this subject, which grew arms and legs and ended up a wee play intertwined with two other folk's pieces.

Sensitive topic, all too real to some audience members, but think we got the right balance of entertaining with humour and raising awareness with realism, as did the other speakers and contributors through the day."
